  • Asset Management Companies (AMCs), Registrars & Transfer Agents (RTAs), and distributors share investor data only with explicit consent or when mandated by regulators or law.
  • All digital touchpoints adopt encrypted transmission and OTP-based authentication to help prevent unauthorised access or misuse.
02

KYC & Due Diligence (Compliance Requirement)

  • Every investor must complete Know Your Customer (KYC) formalities in line with SEBI and KRA norms before transactions are processed.
  • Permanent Account Number (PAN), Aadhaar (where applicable), and supporting identity proofs may be validated against government and regulator databases.
  • Enhanced due diligence is triggered for large-value or suspicious transactions, consistent with PMLA and SEBI surveillance requirements.
03

Prevention of Money Laundering (AML/PMLA Compliance)

  • Investment flows are monitored on a continual basis to identify unusual, high-risk, or suspicious transactions.
  • AMCs must report identified suspicious transactions to the Financial Intelligence Unit - India (FIU-IND) within prescribed timelines.
  • Third-party payments or investments from bank accounts other than the investor's own are generally restricted to minimise laundering risks.
04

Regulatory Compliance

  • All mutual fund schemes operate under SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996 and the oversight of SEBI and AMFI circulars.
  • Investments by NRIs or foreign investors follow FATCA/CRS declarations and FEMA guidelines governing overseas participation.
  • Investors remain responsible for tax obligations under the Income Tax Act, including applicable withholding or reporting requirements.
